The ending had me shocked and has left me desperate for the third book to come out, talk about a cliffhanger! Adrian and Isoldes relationship is full of passion, love, and hot steam。 They are definitely a couple that is a force to be reckoned with! I love them together and I loved experiencing the book in Adrians perspective too。 This book is such a rich fantasy with kingdoms of mortals and immortals, twists and turns, underhanded politics, battle between good and evil, hot spice, and a beautiful romance。 I cannot wait for the next book and will be counting down the days till it is announced and released! An amazing sequel to a great first book! I’m enamored with Adrian and Isolde! Scarlett writes such badass, strong female main characters。 FMCs that don’t stand for disrespect, especially from their lovers。 I will never not read a Scarlett book! The narrator was fantastic。 The story moved the series forward。 It was happy, funny, heart breaking, and overall amazing。Thank you to Netgalley and Bloom for the early copy of the audiobook for an honest review。

Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St。 Clair is the 2nd book in her Adrian X Isolde series。 The story picks up after King of Battle & Blood, as we return to Cordova, and learning more about Isolde and Adrian; with more heartbreak, steamy romance and betrayal。Isolde is now the Queen, married to King Adrian, with both learning to rule the kingdom together。 Their love for each other continues to grow, even with occasional bickering between them; the chemistry between them was sizzling hot lust Queen of Myth and Monsters by Scarlett St。 Clair is the 2nd book in her Adrian X Isolde series。 The story picks up after King of Battle & Blood, as we return to Cordova, and learning more about Isolde and Adrian; with more heartbreak, steamy romance and betrayal。Isolde is now the Queen, married to King Adrian, with both learning to rule the kingdom together。 Their love for each other continues to grow, even with occasional bickering between them; the chemistry between them was sizzling hot lust for each other and insatiable。 Things become dangerous, as attacks cause worry and dissension among the people, who blame either Adrian or Isolde。 With a traitor still missing, and a witch determined to destroy Revekka and destroy Adrian; Isolde must learn more about the past to move forward。 During a spell to help find the witch, one of the main characters is killed, another is unconscious, and Isolde is seriously injured; with decisions made to change her to a Vampire。 Isolde will find that she can shift, which will increase her powers to help join Adrian to fight for their kingdom。 There were a few surprising twists, with two people who were close to them, being traitors。What follows is an exciting intense adventure, that will pit Adrian and Isolde against the people of Revekka, as well as Isolde determined to go back to Lara and reclaim the throne。 I loved Isolde, as she was a strong fearless badass heroine, who stood up to anyone。 I also loved Adrian, as he loved Isolde, and was patient in waiting for her to discover the truths of the past。In the last third of the book, everything escalates, including surprises and twists, especially the two traitors。 Queen of Myth and Monsters was filled with action, danger, betrayal, revenge, as well as a wild and sexy steamy erotic romance。 This was very well written by Scarlett St。 Clair, and if you enjoy fantasy, vampires, you should be reading this book。BarbThe Reading Cafe 。。。more

I’ll probably end up lending it from the library though。 。。。more

I'll start by saying that I wasn't going to continue this series but I got approved the audiobook arc for this book and decided to give it a chance。 I got to 29%。 A conversation happened between Adrian and Isolde, and I can not keep reading when this is a plot device that is being used over and over again。 This book starts off like maybe a few days after the first book ends。 Isolde is deep within her grief after what happened with her father at the end of book 1。 Adrian and her seem to be gettin I'll start by saying that I wasn't going to continue this series but I got approved the audiobook arc for this book and decided to give it a chance。 I got to 29%。 A conversation happened between Adrian and Isolde, and I can not keep reading when this is a plot device that is being used over and over again。 This book starts off like maybe a few days after the first book ends。 Isolde is deep within her grief after what happened with her father at the end of book 1。 Adrian and her seem to be getting into arguments a lot, so it seemed to me。 Like I remember in book 1 how he was supportive of her and her "unique" personality, and in this book he kind of fights her for being her。 I also do not like how their past relationship keeps being brought up because Isolde doesn't have all of her memories and he does。 Plus this relationship is different and even though she has the memories she isn't her past self。 Now I'm gonna get to the part where I had to DNF the book。 So in book 1 Isolde had mentioned her Mother was from an island called Nalani。 I think she mentioned or find out that the people from Nalani are slaves and possibly enslaved by her father or someone who is in close connections with Adrian or Adrian needs their support to "protect the kingdom。 Me being Puerto Rican, I don't usually like reading about and island that is enslaved or colonized cause "hey, it's my real fucking life xx"。 To be honest I'm done letting it slide that the idea of an island being independent and prosperous even in fantasy setting is unrealistic and we have to be saved or protected。 Getting back to the plot of the book, Adrian still thinks that freeing Nalani is not important but Isolde, as a POC and a descendant from Nalani, wants to free them。 Which makes Adrian say (view spoiler)["Can you even call them yours, they do no know who you are?" (hide spoiler)] to which Isolde gets angry at him and replied。 (view spoiler)["They may not know I exist and I may not know their ways but I still belong to them, more than I ever belong to you。" (hide spoiler)] and somehow that whole interaction between them felt not a fantasy moment but a real life one。 I don't think any of what turned me off is intentional, but they are unconsious biases we have。 I tried to google Nalani to see if it was made up or not, the word is originally Hawaiian。 I am not the right person to talk in terms of Pacific Islanders, but me as a Caribbean it's a red flag。 I did read the first book and loved it, and it took me a while to notice the themes I wasn't a fan of。 I know I am not comfortable with the idea enslaved island used a a plot devise to create an argument or conflict between Adrian and Isolde。 Isolde's need or want for Nalani's freedom is mentioned in almost every chapter by her。 If you just want smutty vampires and don't care about the other stuff, then you'll love this book。 。。。more

Not what I was hoping for。。。 I find myself feeling bummed about this。 I definitely did not enjoy it as much as book 1 and I think there are a few reasons:- I didn't love Adrian's character development (despite knowing the reason why it was happening)- A lot of the spice felt like filler and didn't add onto the story/relationship development- Wish we had gotten more from Isolde's magical development - she uncovers a lot of truths and I was just hoping for more! I received the audiobook arc of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review。 For the audiobook part of the review: I really loved listening to the female narrator, the male however sounded a little rough。 More like Batman, than sultry vampire king。 If that makes any sense。。 it just didn’t vibe for me on the male’s narrator’s part, luckily we didn’t get a lot of pov chapters of Adrian。 For the book review:I really enjoyed the continuing story of Isolde and Adrian。 But I d I received the audiobook arc of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review。 For the audiobook part of the review: I really loved listening to the female narrator, the male however sounded a little rough。 More like Batman, than sultry vampire king。 If that makes any sense。。 it just didn’t vibe for me on the male’s narrator’s part, luckily we didn’t get a lot of pov chapters of Adrian。 For the book review:I really enjoyed the continuing story of Isolde and Adrian。 But I did enjoy the first book better than this one。 I didn’t like Adrian as much in this book。 🙈 He has some character development that I don’t think I like。。 We find him saying “I’m sorry” a lot and it’s a little annoying to me。 Isolde gains some new supernatural powers that I wish we saw more of。 And there are some twisty twists and betrayals that I did enjoy。 The smut and plot seem equally included in this book。 Even though the smut seems just thrown in there for fun times。 But still good smut。 If you liked the first you’ll probably like this one, though I’m interested to see if people think Adrian’s likability went down, like it did for me。 A great Romantasy read though。 。。。more

This book。 It’s gave me the feels。 I just haven’t quite figured out what the feels are yet。 But ultimately: I loved it。 I’m still weaving through the intricacies of the plot but I can definitively say that Scarlett is officially the Queen of Morally Grey。 I don’t know my left from my right or my up from my down anymore so my review is going to be extremely drabbly。 The gist of it is that this books picks up a week or so after the end of KBB and then stuff happens。 My first thought while reading This book。 It’s gave me the feels。 I just haven’t quite figured out what the feels are yet。 But ultimately: I loved it。 I’m still weaving through the intricacies of the plot but I can definitively say that Scarlett is officially the Queen of Morally Grey。 I don’t know my left from my right or my up from my down anymore so my review is going to be extremely drabbly。 The gist of it is that this books picks up a week or so after the end of KBB and then stuff happens。 My first thought while reading QMM was that Adrian could stand to worship Isolde a little more。 I Mean the guy spent 200 years grieving for her death and conquering the continent to avenge her death and what not and I just felt like he needs to be a little more obsessed with her LOL I basically exist(ed) for Sorin and Isolde bonding。 “I have loved you across lifetimes’’。 [insert swoon]Ngl by half way through, Isolde’s constant references to her sacrifice started reminding me of when a guy buys you coffee and then acts as if you’re obligated to date him or something because of it。 But then again I may just be projecting 😂 and by the end it no longer bothered me at all。 Because this bitch has been put through the ringer。 Poor baby。 “A woman who wants to sleep with my husband does not make her an enemy, Safira。 It makes her annoying。” [she a bad bitch。]In conclusion。 Sorin broke and is still breaking my heart Nicolae is a little bitch。 And Adrian gots issues。 I’m suspicious of everyone。 The end。 。。。more

I’ve been anxiously awaiting Queen of Myth and Monsters after devouring King of Battle and Blood。 While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it suffers from middle book syndrome in that we end up with so many more questions than answers offered。 That being said, there were some surprises in here that I was NOT ready for including a certain betrayal that hurt like hell。 I loved that the banter and angst between Adrian and Isolde was still top notch even though now they are settling into married life a I’ve been anxiously awaiting Queen of Myth and Monsters after devouring King of Battle and Blood。 While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it suffers from middle book syndrome in that we end up with so many more questions than answers offered。 That being said, there were some surprises in here that I was NOT ready for including a certain betrayal that hurt like hell。 I loved that the banter and angst between Adrian and Isolde was still top notch even though now they are settling into married life and are no longer enemies。 I really enjoyed watching Isolde remember more about her past and abilities。 What I didn’t enjoy so much was Adrian’s constant need to treat Isolde as a fragile object including hiding key information from her。 All in all, I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series, and I have a funny feeling that this author is going to continue to rip my heart out along the way。 Thank you to RB Media for providing a review audio copy。 This did not influence my review。 All opinions are my own。 。。。more

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this audiobook。 The narrator was great and cohesive with the first book in this series。 I loved the first book and this one moved the plot forward great, but was definitely a slower pace than the first book。 There was more world building this time around and it ends with a clear setup for the next installment。 I’d recommend if you loved the first book and these characters!

Thanks to Tantor Audio and NetGalley for the advanced audiobook! This book picks up right after the ending of KoBB。 Isolde and Adrian have to fight battles on many fronts while also balancing their relationship。 I wanted to love this book but I just didn't。 It definitely feels like the second book in a series。 Lots of action but somehow it still feels like nothing happens。 Just a ton of world building with smut interspersed with little to no connection to the plot。 The audiobook has a bonus chapt Thanks to Tantor Audio and NetGalley for the advanced audiobook! This book picks up right after the ending of KoBB。 Isolde and Adrian have to fight battles on many fronts while also balancing their relationship。 I wanted to love this book but I just didn't。 It definitely feels like the second book in a series。 Lots of action but somehow it still feels like nothing happens。 Just a ton of world building with smut interspersed with little to no connection to the plot。 The audiobook has a bonus chapter at the end that is a winter holiday special。The cover is gorgeous! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5🌶🌶🌶🌶/5This book felt like a true telling of what it’s like to have a new marriage and run a kingdom。 There’s trials and tribulations, but if you love each other enough you can get through it。 Wherever that may leave you。 That being said, I’m not sure I’m a fan of who the characters have become (or are) in this second book。 They felt very single-minded and vengeful toward anyone and anything if they didn’t agree with their (the main characters) opinion。 Additionally, it felt like this b ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5🌶🌶🌶🌶/5This book felt like a true telling of what it’s like to have a new marriage and run a kingdom。 There’s trials and tribulations, but if you love each other enough you can get through it。 Wherever that may leave you。 That being said, I’m not sure I’m a fan of who the characters have become (or are) in this second book。 They felt very single-minded and vengeful toward anyone and anything if they didn’t agree with their (the main characters) opinion。 Additionally, it felt like this book was holding onto the remnants of the enemies to lovers trope from book 1 which in my opinion didn’t really make the most sense because it felt like the characters should’ve been well past it。 But this whole book was a fight and make up storyline。 Also, in a way this book felt like a prolonged novella。 While a lot happened it really felt like nothing happened。 The end of the book is really where the story picks up and the revelations towards the end of the book really set up book 3 to be the catalyst。 Looking forward to continuing the series。 。。。more

I was so excited to jump into this sequel。 I loved the first book and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next。 Unfortunately, I just didn’t like this one as much。 I felt like the plot was just underwhelming。 I will still pick up the next book to come out because I do like the story。 I just felt this was not nearly as good as book 1。 *I received an eARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review。

Wow。 This book took me on a JOURNEY! Queen of Myth & Monsters was a roller coaster of a book and had so many twists & turns I had no idea were coming。 The ending of this book dropped me on my ass and left me to deal with it! I was so shocked that I actually gasped out loud。 I was not expecting it to be over like that! Adrian and Isolde together are a force to be reckoned with。 I loved see them together and getting a glimpse into Adrian's head。 They are like a wild fire together。"The world is afr Wow。 This book took me on a JOURNEY! With this intensely electrifying adventure, St。 Clair leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next book in the series。The amount of violence and sex seems to be even higher in this volume than the first book, and I felt that detracted from the plot。 St。 Clair is at her best when describing the mythological elements, which feel unique and engaging。 Despite my small quibble, I'm still looking forward to the next one! 。。。more
